AMES – An Ames convenience store was robbed Monday morning and the clerk was bound and injured by the crook, police say.
On August 5, 2019, at 5:07 AM, the Ames Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Doc’s Stop, 2720 E. 13th Street. According to the convenience store employee, a suspect entered the store and displayed a handgun. The suspect demanded money and exited the store with an undisclosed amount of money. The employee received minor injuries from being bound during the robbery. The victim was treated at Mary Greeley Medical Center.
The suspect was described as a male wearing black clothing and a black hoodie. No further descriptors were provided to officers.
Investigation into this incident continues by the Ames Police Department.
