CLERMONT, IOWA – A convicted Northern Iowa child molestrr is accused of incest and sexually abusing two female juveniles over the last several years.
After a month-long investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff’s office filed charges on Max Evan Meharry Stone, age 43 of Clermont. On May 17, 2018 Stone was arrested and charged with one count of Assault with the intent to commit sexual abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor and one count of providing a controlled substance to a minor, a class “D” felony. A criminal investigation concluded that Stone had allegedly sexually abused two female juveniles over the last several years. On June 19, 2018 Stone was charged with an additional six counts of sexual abuse in the second degree (a class “B” felony) and six counts of Incest (a class “D” felony). Stone’s charges fall under the Code of Iowa 901A.2 enhanced sentencing, “a person convicted of a sexually predatory offense which is a felony, who has a prior conviction for a sexually predatory offense, shall be sentenced to and shall serve twice the maximum period of incarceration for the offense, or twenty-five years, whichever is greater, notwithstanding any other provision of the Code to the contrary. A person sentenced under this subsection shall not have the person’s sentence reduced under chapter 903A or otherwise by more than fifteen percent.”
Max Stone was convicted in 1993 of two counts of lascivious acts with a child. Stone is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail on $30,000.00 bond and is awaiting an initial appearance on the new charges.
