Last night our city council FIRED the hotel developer in the Renaissance Project – Gatehouse. Council point-blank stated that our taxes WOULD GO UP if Gatehouse was involved – this was not disclosed prior to the November 7 election – but some of us suspected as much. They instead went BACK to the hotel developer they FIRED this spring – G8 – who is SUING the City at this time – even though THEY missed crucial deadlines. I have had serious doubts about this project since its inception. I do stand by my promise to try to support the project moving forward if I am elected. BUT – at some point, this needs to be a viable, trustworthy investment of TAXPAYER BACKED General Obligation bonds… or we will have to move on to something else.

  1. Quinn Symonds at it again. He deletes all comments and then makes snarky remarks. If he is like this, what is his brother going to be like on the council?

  2. Drop one cuz of being Sued, on to the next.
This is WHY the people who vote….that 25% of 5000 are so DUMB!!!
All Because of hate For some who run for elected positions. Really.
Next time someone tries telling the TRUTH, LISTEN!!!!!!!!!! And Go with the Truth. Actually They are STILL trying to tell you!

  3. This is why the citizens don’t trust their elected people. Give people the facts and then let them vote. Anthor con job was done to the citizens of Mason City.

  4. John Lee you look like a whipped pup on tv. You need to swallow your pride and get the hell off that council. Man we can all see your not in the right frame and mind for this position. GET OUT,
