CLEAR LAKE – A Britt man was jailed after a drunk driving stop produced illegal drugs.
Cerro Gordo county deputies stopped a vehicle with insufficient number of headlamps on the evening of Thursday, March 9 near the 10000 block of 210th Street in Clear Lake. During the stop, the driver, 48-year-old Donald Thomas Lange of Britt was found to have an open container of alcohol. Further investigation led the deputies to arrest him for operating while intoxicated. Also discovered during the stop were illegal prescription drugs, a controlled substance and illegal drug paraphernalia.
Lange was taken to the county jail on several charges including drunk driving, no insurance, illegal drug and paraphernalia possession. He was caught and convicted of drunk driving two previous times in Buchanan county.
