IRVING, Texas – Iowa State redshirt junior guard Jadda Buckley was named Big 12 Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the league announced Monday. The award was Buckley’s fourth Big 12 weekly honor, as she earned Freshman of the Week three times in 2013-14.

Buckley had a stellar week leading Iowa State to back-to-back wins over intrastate rivals UNI and Drake. Buckley dropped a game-high 25 points against UNI off 8-of-12 shooting. She also tacked on five assists. Against the Bulldogs, Buckley netted 17 points, but it was her late-game heroics that sealed the win for the Cyclones. With 2:03 on the clock and the game tied, Buckley netted seven-straight points give ISU the win. Buckley also dished seven dimes with just one turnover.

Buckley averaged 21.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and shot 52 percent from the field, 50 percent from deep and went a perfect 13-of-13 from the charity stripe.

Iowa State returns to the court on Tuesday when it takes on Savannah State at 7 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
