DUBUQUE – An Iowa woman was followed home from the gym by a man facing burglary and assault charges and he entered her home.
On October 23, 2016, at 11:13 AM, Dubuque police responded to a home on Dubuque’s west side and met with the female resident who reported a man unknown to her entered her home without authorization. The male fled when she called for her husband.
As the investigation progressed, a suspect was developed and a photo line-up was presented to the female. She positively identified one of the males in the line-up, identified as Jacob D. Harrison, age 21, of Dubuque. The investigation further revealed Harrison, in his white Ford sedan, followed the female home from a local fitness establishment. It was also verified he was on pretrial release following an arrest on September 2, 2015, for Burglary 2nd Degree, False Imprisonment, Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, and Eluding, all pertaining to another incident at a home on Dubuque’s far west side. Harrison had been released on a reduced bond and was awaiting trial on the above charges.
Harrison’s pretrial release has since been revoked and he is currently incarcerated in the Dubuque County Jail following his arrest on October 27. He is charged with Trespass and his current bond is $200,000. The investigation remains active.
