Nora Springs man held on $10,000 bond for felony firearm offense

CHARLES CITY – A Nora Springs man is being held on $10,000 cash-only bond in connection to firearm offenses.

Charges were brought this week by Nora Springs police against Aron Jon Bierl, age 29, after his house was raided by police for a second time this month. This time, they were searching for guns at Bierl’s home at 214 North Gaylord Avenue, and apparently found enough evidence to bring two felony charges against him.

Bierl faces two felony charges of dominion / control of firearm by a domestic abuser and remains held in the Floyd county jail in Charles City. He awaits a hearing on April 8.

To make matters worse for Mr. Bierl, he lost his job as a bouncer at the Pole Barn Theatre when the establishment closed for good this week.  He told NIT last week he is just trying to keep his head above water and pay for his house and see his son and that the harassment charges against him were “all a misunderstanding” as he attempted to “check on” his son.

Bierl did plead guilty to one count of third-degree harassment in December, and was put on probation; court records do not show a domestic abuse charge or conviction.  He was accused this month of violating his probation and awaits a probation revocation hearing on April 18.
