COUNCIL BLUFFS – Police in Council Bluffs say a young child has passed away after falling from a bunk bed.
Council Bluffs police began investigating after a 18-month-old child fell from a bunk bed inside an apartment Friday morning around 10:30 AM. Fire medics arrived on the scene and transported the boy – whose name has not been released – to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said that their preliminary investigation found that the boy had been playing in an upstairs bedroom with his 3-year-old brother when he fell from the bunk bed ladder. The children’s father was home at the time of the incident. Police said no foul play is suspected, and an autopsy is scheduled.
