MASON CITY – A Mason City man who pleaded guilty to lesser crimes after an alleged violent domestic assault last year has been arrested again on new charges of felony domestic assault.
Mason City police investigated a domestic assault incident on March 5, 2015, involving 34-year-old Kristofer Warren Voigt. The investigation led to charges brought against him on March 6 of felony domestic assault involving strangulation, false imprisonment, obstruction of emergency communications, and assault causing bodily injury. A statewide arrest warrant was issued that day, and Voigt surrendered at the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office on the morning of March 10. He is being held on bond until a hearing on March 20.
Cerro Gordo deputies went to Voigt’s home at 334 9th Street NE on the afternoon of February 26, 2015, to execute a search warrant. Voigt was taken to the county jail that day on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a credit card. He is being held on bond on that charge, as well, until a hearing again on March 20.
