Cedar Rapids police to burn 1200 lbs. of pot

CEDAR RAPIDS – Police in Iowa’s second-largest city announced Tuesday afternoon that they plan n to burn a whole lot of a popular illegal substance.

“Up in smoke!” the Cedar Rapids Police Department proudly proclaimed Tuesday as it announced the controlled burn of about 1200 pounds of marijuana.

“The CRPD is destroying about 1200 pounds of marijuana at their annual control burn,” the agency explained. “The pot has been taken from various individuals over the past year. Street value is between $1.2 million and $4.8 million depending on the quality. We are proud of our officers for taking this off the streets.”

Why not take it to Colorado and sell it. Use the proceeds for the police department.

Nah, that makes to much sense.

I remember one time in Texas when the forced down a plane full of pot. It sat on one end of the runway for six months and then they decided to burn it. Every kid in the county lined up around the airport to get a free high. Then the cops came in and busted them for using dope.
