MASON CITY – Police raced to a Mason City home after children locked themselves in a room and called 911 when they heard windows breaking at their home.

Mason City police told NIT that on the evening of Friday, January 6 just after 8 PM, a child called 911 when an unknown subject broke a window at their home. A number of children then locked themselves in a room until police arrived. At least 7 Mason City officers converged on the rental house, located at 1121 East State Street. Sources told NIT that two windows were broken and a 12-year-old girl made the emergency call, saying the children were afraid someone was coming into the house.

However, police arrived quickly, and no one made entry, and no arrests have made. Police aid that anyone with info on the incident should contact the MCPD.
