MASON CITY – A collision in a residential Mason City neighborhood led to the arrest of a youth counselor for drunk driving charges.
Mason City police were called to the area of 50 Sunny Circle for a collision after 2 AM Sunday morning, December 21. After an investigation, officers arrested 35-year-old Che Marcele Whitner, who shows a home address of just a few doors away from that location. Cerro Gordo jailers told NIT he was charged with operating while intoxicated.
Whitner was jailed and soon released pending a court date. He is listed as a youth counselor for the Boys Day Program at Francis Lauer Youth Services.

Does he know the name he bears is that of the revolutionary Che Guevera? I’m guessing his parents knew as much when they named him.
I wonder, Will he still be a youth counselor after this?
