MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Nathan Spores has been selected as the ICCAC goalie of the week for the week of Sept. 8-14.
Spores, who is from Inver Heights, Minn., stopped 21 of 22 shots on goal last week in two matches, including all 15 he faced in a 0-0 double overtime draw with top-ranked Iowa Western.
The tie by the Trojans snapped a 28-match winning streak by the defending national champion Reivers.
Spores allowed one goal in the Trojans’ 7-1 win over Scott Community College last week, as well.
Spores ranks second in the ICCAC with a .870 save percentage. He has recorded 47 saves and allowed seven goals in six matches.
