MASON CITY – A former Mason City woman was arrested last week on a probation violation on an OWI charge that she received a deferred judgement on.

Mason City police said Friday that they had stopped Traci Su Hampton, age 41, on December 21, 2011 around 1:06 am at 13th Street and North Federal Avenue for an equipment violation. Officers detected the odor of alcohol from her. She participated in field sobriety testing and was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

Hampton received a deferred judgement in the case from Judge James Drew later in 2012. Half of the $1,250.00 civil penalty was suspended, and she received 40 hours of community service and 1 year of probation.

Records show that Hampton violated her probation in June of 2013 and an arrest warrant was issued. Police continued to search for Hampton until October 30th of this year, when she was finally arrested at the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Hampton posted a $1,000 bond on October 31 and was released from jail, awaiting a probation revocation hearing on November 20th.

  1. Probation is designed to draw you back in the system. It’s called “being on paper”. Once in paper, always on paper. It’s all a business.

  2. I find it odd that she was “missing” or they couldn’t find her for several months. I have seen her a lot around Mason City. They should just have Regan Banks send her a text, then they’d find her!

  3. That is what happens when the get off easy the first time. They learn nothing at all from the experience. I’ll bet she remembers it this time. People just do not realize how serious a D.U.I. is.

    1. LVS,but on story of Plymouth woman getting arrested for domestic because she threw can at mans head in drunkin rage with kid in house is OK.Crime is a crime and you can be arrested for it male or female.Just maybe they can’t handle the alcohol when you have drank way too much.Just be luck, someone could of been killed.

      1. @XD-just what the hell does that mean? Learn how to spell and your message will come across a lot better. He is still a wimp crybaby. Oh my, oh my, she threw a can at me. I better call the police. Maybe if he hadn’t been in her house threatening her it never would have happened.
