CHARLES CITY – The City of Charles City is looking to hire people for a seasonal position.

According to an email from the City of Charles City, a Maintenance Worker-Snow Removal position is now open. The Charles City Housing Authority is accepting applications for seasonal employees to perform snow and ice removal for at apartment complexes. The employees will be on-call and hours will vary from early morning throughout the day and may include weekends and holidays.

The job pays a $9.00 per hour salary.

  1. Why not have the Athletic Director in the towns participating handle the workers who donate the earnings back to the Athletic department with a banquet meal for those who, shoveled at end of season.

  2. I wonder if this is an 18 and older job, or if, teenagers could do it. I think some high school kids would love a $9.00 job that can give them a workout at the same time.

  3. Why not make people living off government programs have to do some work in exchange for their free life. Oh how inhumane to think someone should actually take responsibility for their lives.

  4. If you need the money bad enough, you will do it. Enough said. Lots of people out there are more than physically able to do such work, but instead they choose to live of the Government.
