Observations:

Today’s Globe featured a story on Max Weaver’s park, It should be noted that in attendance were 35 architectural students from Iowa State Cllege. One of the comments made by a young student was that she thought the park to be awesome.

As an after thought the article also mentioned that the historic Park Inn Hotel was also on the list….just a mere 22 million dollar restoration of the last standing hotel by the most famous architect in the history of America and it only draws one sentence and no comment. Not surprised look at what it had to compete with.

PS: The students visited last year, too.

  1. I am from Oregon and this place could fit right in! We are ALL about a nice garden/mini park just like that. With original art and surroundings. It is hip and fresh. The way I understand it is Max Weaver, the owner, let’s art students or anyone have at it. Along with his artistic eye. Freedom of art. Isn’t that how all great artists went about it? Yes.

It simply is a happy nice place. I will return time and again!

  2. Steve that’s just stupid. Obviously you haven’t been there..Cut it down? Kids go to college where they can and some where they want either way never slam a student. The only time to not support them is during a football game and you happen to be for another team. That’s it.

    GREAT garden Max!!!

  3. Just a thought, it seems there are college students that have taste, and an appreciation of art. Thanks Max, for all your hard work.
