Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa
Forest City, Iowa – Graduation preparations are well underway at Waldorf College. Baccalaureate and commencement will take place on Saturday, April 27.

At 10:30 a.m., faculty, students, family and friends will gather in Waldorf’s Atrium for the baccalaureate service. A traditional worship service, baccalaureate is a celebration of dedication to learning and service and will include a performance by Waldorf’s Sangkor vocal ensemble.

The commencement ceremony will take place at the John K. and Luise Hanson Fieldhouse at 2 p.m. More than 230 students will graduate this spring, with over 130 students graduating from Waldorf’s online programs. In addition to the conferring of degrees, the ceremony will also include performances by the Waldorf Choir and Wind Symphony.

This year’s commencement speaker is Chantell Mayes Cooley, Vice President of Columbia Southern University and member of Waldorf College’s Board of Trustees. “We are very excited to have Ms. Cooley deliver the commencement address,” said Waldorf College President Dr. Robert Alsop. “She is a dynamic speaker. Her passion and life’s work have centered on the transformative nature of education.”

For those unable to attend the day’s festivities, the baccalaureate service and commencement ceremony will be streamed live at http://new.livestream.com//waldorfcollegestream. In the days following graduation, the celebration will be available to download for free from Waldorf’s iTunes U station.
