MASON CITY – If you are struggling with your life and want to find a reason for living, then perhaps the Blue Zone’s “Purpose Workshop” is just what you need.
“If you don’t know your purpose, you’re not alone,” a Blue Zones mailer said. “46% of men and 40% of women say they’re still trying to discover theirs.”
As part of the Mason City Blue Zones initiative, a “Purpose Workshop” is being offered on March 21st at First United Methodist Church from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
“Uncover your gifts, pinpoint what gives your life meaning, and wake up with purpose each day,” the workshop offers. “People who understand their purpose live an average of 7 years longer.”
Beats sitting at a computer spewing smack. For not having a damn thing to do with BZ’s you all seem to think you’re experts. Typical numb nuts.
Blue zones are regions in casinos where all the blue hairs gamble.
How many mailers were sent out, and to who, and what age group did it target, I didn’t get one.
It is one of the biggest wastes of taxpayer money in recent history. The ” beautiful” sculptures in downtown mason city — next– god awful!!!

There are elections coming up this year for Mayor, and 2nd ward, 4th ward and at-large…. We need to sweep it clean and start over with people who really have the people of Mason City at heart.
If u have never been interested before or taken elections seriously please take a look this time. Our mayor is a bully who loves to intimidate. Tornquist his puppet. Solberg another puppet who I understand is even know to cut the mayors food when they are all out together… Since he is a nothing and his wife is a doctor– he must need to get his ego boosted somehwere….

This Blue Zone is nothing more than a toy for the wealthy to be able to say look at what I am doing. It will fade out of existence in not to long a time. What purpose does it serve. We have bike trails, parks, ball parks and other forms of recreation and always have had. It is up to the people to make themselves healthy. I can just imagine the people in the manufacturing plants laughing at their managers once again.
Yea and a lot of the time the trails and ball parks and tennis courts are empty. It’s hard to smoke crack, chew meth, eat twinkies and drink bud light all day and then go workout. Just doesnt fit the NI lifestyle.
With the Blue Zone you think they are going to be filled with people now! Get real if people want to get fit and healthy they don’t need my tax money to do it. If you think I am selfish then maybe I am. I am tired of local and big government telling me what I should and shouldn’t do when it comes to my personal choices. I am big boy if am not breaking the law or harming someone else then city government needs to stay out of my business. There are a lot of health clubs and weight programs out there for people if they want to use them let them spend there own money and leave my money alone.
The gal from Albert Lea who came down to take an income off the project is a smoker. She got her job with the Albert Lea Blue Zones in unscrupulous ways. Please research…I’m from MN.

They had a booth yesterday at the family fair and not one healthy snake to be found!! You think with this being a family fair and everyone suppose to be working together with the Blue Zone the would have had fruit and not cupcakes and candy. I am sure I will hear negative comments on this but I get tired on how everyone is suppose to be working with the Blue Zone and I saw none of it yesterday. I am sick of are tax money going for this!!! Don’t care what anyone says our tax money is going for this!!
