WATERLOO – Daniel Eugene Morrissey, 36, of Waterloo has pleaded guilty in Black Hawk County Court to a range of drug offenses that could land him in jail for decades, the Cedar Rapids Gazette reported.

“I’m tired of fighting … I just want to take responsibility for what I’ve done,” Morrissey told the Gazette.

According to the Gazette, Morrissey faces 235 years with a 57-year mandatory minimum before he is eligible for parole for his crimes, involving marijuana and the manufacture or methamphetamine.  Morrissey has been found guilty of other crimes previously, including felony burglary.  His previous offenses helped enhance his penalty on these charges.

Lyric Cook-Morrissey, Daniel’s 11 year-old daughter, went missing last summer.  She was later found dead with her 9 nine year-old cousin.  Police are still investigating their disappearance.
