From the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office:
Jeffery Alan Horstman, age 50, from rural Britt, Iowa died in a single vehicle accident North of 1930 Nash Ave. This location is approx. four miles south of Duncan, Iowa in Hancock County. He was northbound driving a 2005 Chevrolet pickup. Driver veered onto the east shoulder of the roadway going into the east ditch, rolling onto it’s top. It appears the driver was not using a seat belt. An autopsy will be conducted at North Iowa Mercy, Mason City. Accident was called in at 01:30 am. by someone passing by. Road conditions at the time was 50 to 100% covered with snow.
Assisting the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office at the scene was the West Hancock Volunteer Ambulance Service, Britt Fire Department, and the Britt Police Department.
