MASON CITY – Motorcycle repairs are blamed by authorities for igniting a blaze inside a Mason City garage over the weekend.
On March 9, at approximately 10:23 p.m. the Mason City Fire Department was dispatched for the report of a garage fire at 323 29th St SW. Fire crews arrived and found an unattached garage on fire. Fire was present on the exterior south side and inside the garage. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
No injuries were reported.
Emergency crews cleared the scene (pictured at top) at approximately 1:11 AM The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature from a motorcycle being worked on earlier in the evening.
No outside agencies assisted with the fire.
