Waterloo man arrested after hitting another man with beer glass; both hospitalized

On Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at approximately 9:00 PM, Waterloo Police were sent to Chaser’s Bar, 3005 University Avenue on report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers found that Craig Robert Kriener, age 29, of Waterloo had been cut in the neck. He was taken to Allen Hospital for surgery. Witnesses stated that Kriener had been hit in the head with a beer glass.

While investigating the assault, a subject arrived at Covenant Medical Center with severe cuts to his hands. This subject, Nathan Anthony Walter, age 33, of Waterloo was treated for his injuries and arrested. He was charged with Willful Injury for hitting Kriener with the beer glass. Kurtis Gregory Walker, age 34, of Waterloo was charged with Accessory after the fact. Walker drove Walter from the scene and switched vehicles, before taking Walter to the hospital.

Kriener is in stable condition at Allen Hospital.
