MASON CITY – Mason City police were called in reference to an accident at 12 South East 7th Street shortly after 9:30pm Friday evening.
After taking an accident report, a driver identified as 44-year-old Lee Jay Cobb of Northwood was taken into custody suspected of operating while intoxicated.
According to online records a certified BAC was taken at the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office administered by Mason City police officer Jason Trask. The results of Cobb’s BAC, over an hour after the accident, were recorded as .087 for the first test, and .086 for the second test.
As a result Lee Cobb was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a serious misdemeanor count of 1st offense Operating While Intoxicated. Cobb was released a short time later after posting a $1,000 bond and promising to appear to further court proceedings.
SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
