LeRoy, MN man admits to sexually abusing a 13-year-old family member for nearly eight years

Matt Peterson, Austin Daily Herald, Minn. –

A LeRoy man accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old family member for nearly eight years admitted guilt after one year of court proceedings.

Neal Scott Johnson, 45, pleaded guilty in Mower County Court Friday to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a significant relation younger than 16, a felony. Two felony charges for first-degree criminal sexual conduct were dismissed. According to court documents, the victim reported the abuse to police July 30, 2011.

The victim told police Johnson had abused her since 2003, when she was five years old. She added the abuse would occur at least four to five times a month, but over time happened around 10 times a month. The last sexual encounter was July 16, 2011, she told officers.

Johnson was arrested and transported to Mower County Jail last August, where he declined to be interviewed by police.

His sentencing is set for Oct. 5.

How do you abuse a 13 year old for 8 years?

Aren’t you the son of a teacher??? You take 13 and subtract 8. That gives you 5. So this POS started abusing this child at age 5. Does that spell it out for you?

Mr. Rezab it is called “incest”. Sex between family members. In this case a small child of 5 was forced into a sexual relationship against her will.

This happens far to often inside families, and the dirty secret is kept from others because of the shame and guilt inside the victim. More often than not this shame, guilt, and fear is buried for many years until the anger explodes in ways that are harmful again to the victim.

I know of cases when the sexual abuse started when they were babies. Sexual abuse of children is the sickest of all the crimes.

If it were up to me, death would be the price the sexual perpetrators paid for such heinous sexual crimes.

It took tremendous courage for this young lady to step forward and expose this family member. Believe it or not, there will be some in her family that will be angry with her for doing so. In time, when they learn the devastation it has taken on the victim and their anger will turn to compassion.

It will take time to heal! She is a survivor.

Hell is to good for him
