MASON CITY – Around 11:00 am Thursday, a three vehicle collision at South Grover and 4th Street SW was called into the Mason City Police Department.
At the scene, everybody was reported okay.
Gayle Anderson, who was the driver sandwiched between the other two, said, “We (two front cars) were stopped for the red light. The truck hit us from behind. He said “I only looked away for a little while”.
Anderson had her granddaughter with her at the time of the accident. Asking the little girl if she was okay, she nodded, then tears began to roll down her creeks, “I’m going to miss grandma’s car. We’ve only had it a couple days.” Grandma looked and mouthed, “A couple years”.
Miller Towing was called to take the vehicles away.

I love how the truck reads “Think safety first” and yet the driver admits that he looked away.
