The saying “In like a Lion, out like a Lamb” would not discribe the way the Franklin County Fair ended. The roar of the Monster Trucks delighted all thrill enthusists, young and old. Even the extreme heat didn’t discourage this crowd.
Sunday night, the Grandstand show had the great pleasure of a return visit from the Vaters Monster Motorsports to the tracks of Franklin County.
“Vaters brought the biggest, meanest and most powerful vehicles on the monster truck circuit including Black Stallion and Iron Warrior,” says their flyer.
“Michael Vater has been competing in monster truck events for over 25 years. His Black Stallion monster truck is a six time USHRA Thunder Nationals Champion, hlding the 2005 title , and four time USHRA World Finals competitor. Black Stallion was the first monster truck to successfully jump another monster truck driving forward and the first truck to attempt to jump another monster truck driving in reverse. Vaters successfully jumped another monster truck in reverse setting a world record distance of 70 feet in the fall of 2002 at Indianapolis, Indiana. Black Stallion is known across the country for his wild and crazy driving style, and his ability to push the limits at events nationwide.”
