March 23–SAUK RAPIDS — Riley Bengston scored 10:37 into overtime to lift the Granite City Lumberjacks over the North Iowa Bulls, 2-1, in Game 1 of the NA3HL West Division Finals Thursday at Sports Arena East.
Game 2 is at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Sports Arena East. The third game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday in Sauk Rapids.
Noah Anderson put the Bulls on the board midway through the second period but Trevor Ness tied the game 1:35 into the third.
The Lumberjacks outshot North Iowa, 42-19, forcing Bulls goalie, Matthew Bartells, to make 40 saves.
Both goals in regulation were scored on the power play.
