A Mason City woman who has been in and out of court on numerous felony charges of forgery was arrested on a warrant after law enforcement located her at Alley Katz bar shortly after 12:30am Thursday morning according to a police incident report.

Mason City police had obtained an arrest warrant for 50-year-old Brenda Leah Askildson on Wednesday for an alleged forgery that occurred on September 21st. Askildson was transported from the location and booked into the Cerro Godro County Jail on one Class D felony count of forgery.

Court records indicate Askildson was charged with seven counts of felony forgery in 2003. Four of those counts were dismissed in exchange for a guilty plea to two counts of forgery and an amended charge of 5th degree theft.

In 2007 Askildson was charged with three felony forgery counts and one count of 4th degree theft. Askildson pled guilty to two of the charges and one count of forgery and the 4th degree theft was dismissed in exchange.

Brenda Askildson has been released from the Cerro Gordo County Jail and a preliminary hearing has been set for March 30th at 8:30am.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
