NIACC Soccer: Kinsella signs to Ashford University

MASON CITY, Iowa – NIACC soccer’s starting goalkeeper this past season Patrick Kinsella will sign with Ashford University for next season.

Kinsella, a sophomore out of Frimley, England, had 177 saves and only allowed nine goals in 20 games this past season.  In his Trojan career, Kinsella had a record of 31-6-3, 271 saves, and allowed 23 goals in 37 games.

Kinsella was also a 1st Team Academic All-Region choice last fall.

“Patrick has made a massive impact over the past two years,” said former NIACC soccer coach Mike Regan.  “In my opinion, he was the best goalkeeper in the league and one of the best in the country at the JUCO level.

“We won a lot of games over the last two seasons, but people forget the high profile games when Patrick made critical saves at crucial times.  He has been a joy to coach and we wish him the best at Ashford.”

Ashford is an NAIA school and a member of the Midwest Collegiate Conference.  Kinsella will join NIACC teammate Simon Brown and former NIACC teammate Jason Greenwood on the Saints roster.
