MASON CITY – 
An update on the parking lot at 3rd Street NE and North Delaware from City Administrator Brent Trout:
“The City has run in to an unexpected issue with the paving project for the parking lot located at Delaware and 3rd St. NE. When the prep work was being done for the project an old building foundation was discovered. The City removed the foundation and filled the hole back in with large ballast but the spot where the foundation is located is still very soft and will need to have some time to settle before it can be paved over. The lot will stay as a gravel lot open to the public for the winter in order to allow it to settle. The lot will be cleared of snow through the winter. The project will then be completed in the spring.”
