CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman already facing drug and assault crimes has had more charges tacked on.
On the afternoon of December 25, officers with the Charles city police department went to the 1900 block of Clark Street and spoke to a resident who lives nearby. As a result, officers arrested 29-year-old Tasiana Stephens of Charles City on valid arrest warrants and for driving with no driver’s license.
After an investigation, Stephens has been accused of two counts of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness after an alleged crime she committed back on September 23, 2017. She was also charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness for an alleged crime she committed back on December 9, 2017. Furthermore, Stephens has been charged with possession of controlled substance – marijuana 1st offense and providing false information for an incident on November 25.
Later, Stephens was charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused injury for an incident that took place on December 9, 2017. She was located by Charles City police on January 15 and taken to jail on warrants.
Stephens was soon released from jail, pending court appearances.
