MASON CITY – A forum was held Thursday evening featuring the five candidates for Mason City school board.
The event was held Thursday evening, September 7 at 6 PM in the FEMA Safe Room on the Mason City High School campus. A few dozen Mason City citizens attended the event, to learn about the candidates and to make an an informed vote.
Candidates took questions for about 90 minutes on a range of issues, including school vouchers, transparency of the district, how to help teachers with their alleged over-worked status, and more.
There are three seats available on the Mason City school board and five candidates to choose from.
Election day is September 12, but voting is already taking place at the Cerro Gordo county courthouse.
