MASON CITY – A man once convicted of terrorism was arrested Tuesday for harassment.
Mason City police were called to the 1000 block of South Illinois Avenue Tuesday at about 1:39 AM for the second time in two days on a report that a male subject who was making unwanted contact on a subject.
Police conducted an investigation into the alleged harassment and determined that 54-year-old Lyle Vance Laird had already been warned to discontinue “that type of contact” with the alleged victim the previous day.
Laird was arrested and taken to jail. He was convicted of terrorism in 2002 in Humboldt county.
