GRAETTINGER – An Iowa man died Monday during the annual RAGRBAI ride across Iowa. Meanwhile, a Mason City man was seriously injured after being struck by car in Spirit Lake as he was participating in the event.

According to the Des Moines Register, 63-year-old Tom Teesdale from West Branch, who built popular custom bike frames, died Monday while riding near the Palo Alto county town of Graettinger. He died of natural causes.

Closer to home, a Mason City man, 58-year-old David Pate, was injured as he rode his bike in a parking lot in Spirit Lake, Iowa on July 20th. He suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized. A family member said that “there’s no doubt that his helmet saved him.”

Pate is now home and recovering in Mason City.

Natural causes? As in myocardial infarction due to riding a bike? I guess that would be considered natural in some circles.

Well if ya want to share the road license your bike and carry insurance. Im sick of these bikers on black tops can’t get around them and if they think that you didn’t get far enough over they flip you off. So when they do there drunkin bike around the lake they should start handing out bwi biking while intoxicated.
