Woman charged with theft for third time by MCPD

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman is in jail, facing her third theft charge by police in about a year.

Tiffany Renae Farhat, age 33, was last charged with third degree theft after an October 10 incident.  She has pleaded not guilty and awaits a January 6 jury trial.

Farhat is now in jail due to this charge causing the Iowa Department of Corrections to charge her with violating the terms of her probation in connection with her last theft charge, which was brought in April.  She had pled guilty to theft in the third degree and was given a suspended 2 year prison term and a suspended $625 fine along with 2 years of probation.  She awaits a November 7 hearing.

Farhat pled guilty to third degree theft in August of 2013 in Cerro Gordo county.

She keeps stealing because she know the judges will just let her go again. Why not steal from other people if there is no penalty for doing it?

Ok, it is obvious she had not learned anything from probation.Anyone think it’s time for some jail time?? Hope the judge thinks it’s time!!
