MASON CITY – A Mason City woman might have several years of bad luck if she’s convicted of busting a window and then driving drunk this weekend, as police allege.
According to police, officers were called to the 1400 block of North Virginia Avenue on Friday evening, March 7 at about 11:52 PM. A resident there reported that a known person had just broken a window there and driven off. Officers located and stopped the vehicle near 1st Street SE and Tennessee Avenue.
The driver, 24-year-old Kendra Chanel Newton of Mason City, was later arrested for 5th degree criminal mischief and second offense operating while intoxicated, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Newton is still working her way through a drunk driving conviction from last year in Tama county. She served jail time, and was assessed $2,031.85 in fines and fees, but has managed to pay back only $554.48. She’s been placed on a payment plan. In addition, she was to complete a substance abuse counseling program.

Wow what a fat face on her! Stinking drunk. This is the lowest form of trash that Mason has. Prostitute with kids, drug addict living off our tax dollars. Always in trouble, violent and can’t read or write. It’s sad her number one worth is between her legs. Never has had a drivers license. Look, someone has to get these people either help to get back on track or get them out of this town. I’ve seen this girl. She can’t form a sentence but she is good with her mouth and lying on her back. The problem is that so are thousands of others.
