MASON CITY – Early Friday morning, Mason City police were called to the 1500 block of North Rhode Island after a caller reported a male subject rummaging through the inside of a vehicle parked on the street. The caller stated that he confronted the subject and then the subject fled on foot.
Officers then searched the residential area for about 15 minutes and then located the male subject hiding in a backyard in the 1500 block of North Hampshire Ave. The subject, 21 year-old Cody Kramer of Northwood, was taken into custody without incident at that time.
An investigation determined that Kramer was the individual who had entered the vehicle on North Hampshire Avenue. Kramer was charged with simple misdemeanor public intoxications and aggravated misdemeanor third degree burglary. Kramer was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and held on a $2,000.00 bond.
It is believed that Kramer had been in at least one other vehicle in the area prior to his arrest. Kramer was in possession of a pair of prescription sunglasses that did not belong to him. Police stated that if a person is missing prescription sunglasses, they should contact the Mason City Police Department.
Mason City police urge residents to lock vehicles even if they are parked next to their homes.
Isn’t ironic that Cody Kramer got stabbed 2 months ago and was protected by the law in that case and now disrespects the law by burglarizing people’s cars. Loser. Maybe he and his stabber will end up in the same jail cell like happened in the SE a week or so ago. /Sarcasm
