MASON CITY – Four candidates have been chosen to be interviewed for the presidency at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC).

“We are very pleased to announce the finalists in our presidential search,” said NIACC Board Chair Toni Noah of Charles City. “We feel confident that we have four excellent candidates before us. The NIACC President is a vital position in North Central Iowa. This person leads the College and is also a key partner in area economic growth and vitality. We will continue to keep the NIACC family and the public informed as we move forward in choosing our next president.”

The candidates were selected during a thorough process, starting with a screening committee comprised of three Iowa Community College presidents who considered 36 applicants. A search committee consisting of NIACC employees and members of the community then conducted video interviews with seven candidates on Sept. 3. Search consultant Larry Ebbers of Iowa State University presented the committee’s four finalists to the NIACC Board of Directors during a special session on September 4.

Candidate interviews are scheduled to take place Sept. 16, 17, 23 and 24 on the NIACC campus. The four finalists and their interview dates are listed below.

Each candidate will spend a full day on campus in interviews with various College boards and employee groups. Each candidate’s schedule will include two open forums. The public is invited to attend those and meet the candidates. Those will be held at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on each interview day, in room 101 of the NIACC Activity Center. NIACC is located at 500 College Drive in Mason City.
