Bail bondsmen seek and arrest woman Thursday

MASON CITY – April Lalor may not have had a clue who she was messing with.

Lalor, 37, was out of jail on bond Thursday when her bail bondsmen, Monte and LeeAnn Mosher with M&M Bail Bonds came knocking. “She’s been revoked on her bond for non-compliance,” LeeAnn said. “We are going to look for her and take her in.”

The Moshers, newly-relocated back to North Iowa last January after some time in San Antonio, are fairly new to the bail bondsman profession. After answering an online ad, they started M&M Bail Bonds in February. They say the business has been a big success and that they currently have 60 people they have posted bond for that are actively out of jail.

After Thursday, make that 59, as they went on the hunt for Lalor, out on $4,000 bond. She was busted by Mason City police on June 19 and charged with third degree theft. M&M bonded her out the next day, but she has failed to keep in touch with the Moshers, so they revoked her bond and set out Thursday to bring her back to jail.

After searching first at Lalor’s daughter’s residence, where she was supposed to be, the Moshers caught up with her a couple blocks away at another location on the 300 block of West State Street.  After allowing her to say a few goodbyes, Lalor was cuffed and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

M&M bail bonds covers an 11 county area surrounding Cerro Gordo County.  They can be reached at  641-424-BAIL (2245).

Looks 60 not 37

I hope M&M get a taste of their own medicine. I think the way DOG gets away with filming is he has his clients sign waivers. I don’t think they can do that. On a side note that lady in the front seat is a blooming idiot.

M&M bail bonds is under 1st Call Bail Bonds….Check out the wonderful people they have helped return to your streets. Now my question is when he called into court why did you leave somebody already convicted once of shooting another person on the streets? Just another business no better then Alley Katz who puts profits ahead of community.

It’s funny to watch white trash handling one of their own!

“The JUDGES and county attorneys are setting up the crooks for easy escape. The cops are cleaning up the garbage as fast as they can and the judges set the bond too low after the cty attonreys lower the charges.”

You missed one big player in the game. The attorney for the defense. In this game, the County Attorney looks at the evidence the charge is based upon. Defense walks in, says evidence is not strong enough to win, and suggests to make everone happy, and reduce costs of a trial, her client will agree to lesser charges. County Attorney weighs his or her hand to see if they have a trump card. If not, they go along with the bargain. Several hearings later, the Judge examines it for appropriateness based on recommendations from DOC, and others, and either agrees with the bargain, or disposes of it.

That is how the system works, like it or not. The Prosecutor is in business to get guilty verdicts. Defense is in the business of getting clients off the hook.

That’s my cousin, try being related to her!! Try having to deal with this, along with both of her brothers.. she used to be so pretty, had all of her kids & now she doesn’t have any of them besides one that she sees.. im surprised I haven’t disowned her yet from the family..

It’s fuuny how you were all about her on her mugshot, now you whistle a different tune.

This is my mother she left me as a kid! Such a Nastey disgraceful person thankful for the life I have now

So sad. I knew her when we were kids. She was absolutely beautiful and I was jealous. It is hard to believe she is my age now.

for those of you comparing these people to dog the bounty hunter, you dont know what your talking about. this wasnt a bounty hunt! bounty hunting is when the the accused doesnt appear in court and the bail bondsmen loses their money, they then track down and bring the accused back into jail to recover the money.
this was retarded bail bondsmen conducting bad business by not receiving all the money up front, then thought they could glamortise what they did “being D*cks” on camera
I hope this kills there business

She failed to do what she said she would do. She then paid the consequences. Also “glamortise” is not a word, stop being overly “dramatical”.

What actually did this woman do for the bond daddy to revoke her bond?

She didn’t keep in contact with the bondsman? According to the story, there’s no evidence at all that she missed any court appearances–and that is the only purpose of bond, to guarantee that you show up.

I thought bond revocation was up to a judge.

I guess this bonding outfit got their commission and that was that.

Got $4k good Samaritan? You need a ride to the law enforcement center?

There’s Leading a blessed life again trolling for Republicans. If you want me to be a republican I can be a republican if that will make your day seem more successful. We all pay taxes silly, no matter what income in the form of sales tax, etc.

Bawls, not balls. Please check your spelling, not doing so makes your comments very hard to understand.

Hey AnyMouse-spell check would not catch this. Both are real words. Get you facts straight before you spout off.

They said check your spelling not use spell check. Get YOUR facts straight before you spout off.

Why is it that people want to be spelling police? Who gives a shit! If you couldn’t understand what that was supposed to mean that you must be really mentally challenged. Let’s try focusing on the real part of the story. I get so sick of posters wanting to rip on other posters for spelling a couple words here or there wrong. Now, if the whole thing is jacked up like someone is posting when they are drunk then have at it but one or two words?! Come on, you don’t have to the THAT critical do you or are you just THAT bored and HAVE to post something? It makes you sound like a whining bitch.

If you have something to say, say it. Take the time to re-read it and correct any errors you may see. If you cannot do that, you are trying to obfuscate your point. People have enough challenges while trying to make it through their day without having to figure out what someone is too lazy to properly say.

wow I give them props. She is just keeps going and going. I couldn’t deal with that in my ear for as long as they did.

Just think what the cops have to put up with everyday!

Way to go Monte!!!!!

You know what’s funny? We as taxpayers are paying for all of this. The law enforcement and court systems for these people with so many problems. Maybe for the people out sitting on the porch unless they were just relaxing before the night shift begins. Not only does it appear we are getting a poor return for our investment we also have to live in this environment that is getting worse by the day. I am sick of the soap opera of Mason City and would rather get some more of my tax dollars back. Could we quit propping these people up with all our “free programs” (homeless shelters, food pantries, community kitchen meals, etc.) and maybe they would go elsewhere. Ya think?
This is not the industry we wanted to build is it?

Spoken like a true republican. You got yours and if you don’t have problems, no one else should either.

“Republican” has nothing to do with it. Citizens are sick of this kind of revolving door, welfare for life crap.

If you’re trying to turn the world against Republican, you’re doing a poor job of it.

It’s a business like anything else. If you see more bail bond companies arrive here it’s because the market is here—criminals and drugs.

If we get rid of the bail bonds companies then the criminals have to either stay in jail or use their own money to get.

Awesome! What happens when the jail is full?

look people are innocent until proven guilty, and people should be aloud to lead a normal life until there day in court finds them guilty, this is to protect the innocent ones from losing jobs, not supporting there families, ect.. with out the help of bail bondsmen only the rich can have this opportunity instead of no bail bondsmen just not these bail bondsmen

If you don’t do the crime or put yourself in the position to get arrested then you don’t have to worry about your job, family and everything else. And the jails won’t fill up because the courts will let them out after court or after they payup

Common sense would tell you if you can’t afford the punishment then don’t do the crime. Millions of people make the choice to do the right thing every minute of the day

I do what I think is right and I STILL get arrested?

Because your stupid, you have no common sense

A tough guy on the internet! What a rarity. Please do go on!

Those idiots can’t even handcuff her right. The dumb bitch got out of them. If she was really violant she could have killed them. Stupid M&M Bail bond just close up shop now before you hurt yourselfs.

Don’t the police handcuff people in the back for safety and why not use the seat belt for even more protection. WHAT DUMMIES!!!!

cops dont put seat belts on you…………….

They also have cages so that the criminals can’t get to them. These people didn’t have anything to stop them from getting chocked out.

The people who have been posting all of the negative comments about the MCPD not doing their jobs. Are the same people who like this article and video. These bail bond companies are the ones letting the criminal back on the streets even before the courts do. This is a prime example of why you continue to see the same people get arrested week after week, they get a second chance and screw it up because they know they can just get another company to bond them out. This women’s pleding to be let go is what your police deparment hears at every call they go to and they have to make the choice to arrest or not to in usualy minutes not days or weeks. Please just think of who is really letting criminals walk down our streets.

A stupid it is not a right it is an option.

All I can say is wow. This is one interesting site. This is one of the first sites I check every morning. Just unbelievable.

that was the dumbest thing I’ve every seen, what was the point, she wasn’t on the run, she didn’t skip court right? sounds like she had been out for one day & had been making all the contacts she should be. I don’t know this lady what so every but, I thought it looked bad on the bail bondsmen, they probably just want to make a video for some PR and prayed on this vulnerable women.

Mr. Myers – I agree with you in part, however, (from my understanding after watching the video) there were two things the lady did NOT do:

#1) When she got released from jail, she didn’t check in with M & M to confirm with them where she was staying at.

#2) She wasn’t where she’d previously told them she would probably be staying…

She says she made 11 other appointments – just forgot to let the people who laid down $4,000 of their own personal money for a complete stranger to get out of jail, know where she was staying.

From what I gathered, they posted the bond, but the lady remained in jail after the bond posted. I’m pretty sure they explained to her or whoever arranged to spring for the bond, when she gets out, LET US KNOW WHERE YOU’RE STAYING. Remember, M&M is out $4k if she disappears… it will take a LOT of $200 cash deposits to make up for that $4k if she skips.

I would presume M&M knew approximately when Missy was to be released, and they were anticipating a phone call or contact.

I would also presume M & M has a BIG hourly or daily calendar (or software) that says, “Hey Guys, Missy XYZ should be out of jail… did she call in yet?”

SOOOOOoooo…

If I were M & M, I would be immediately concerned my $4,000 was at risk too since they knew she was out, and she wasn’t where she said she’d be staying.

The M & M folks are learning. I too am hopeful they’ve figured out to hand-cuff their detainees behind the back, and seat-belt them into the seat on the passenger side (feet and strong legs can kick the heck out of a driver from behind – across the vehicle is a bit harder to do).

The service they provide is needed… glad my family and I don’t know these fine people (no offense intended – just have no desire to put myself in a situation where we will need to meet.)

I wouldn’t want their job.

God protect you both in your service to the community. I wish you well.
