WIT National Rally kicks off Sunday in Forest City

FOREST CITY, IOWA, July 9, 2012 – Ahoy mateys! Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE:WGO), a leading United States (U.S.) recreation vehicle manufacturer, is turning its rally grounds into Treasure Island for the 43rd annual WIT Club Grand National Rally (GNR) held July 15-20, 2012.

“We are excited to have nearly 1,000 Jollyboats, actually Winnebago Industries’ motor homes and towables, coming for a week of fun as we sail the high seas for our 43rd GNR,” said WIT General Manager Doug Formanek. “It is sure to be a fun week full of swashbuckling fun, finding hidden treasure and meeting old and new lads and lassies!”

Held at the rally grounds across from Winnebago Industries’ headquarters in Forest City, the 43rd annual Grand National Rally promises to be an active week, filled with informative seminars, great entertainment and events, like driving schools, backseat driver’s competition and our version of a “grand” bonfire. In addition, a number of suppliers will be on hand for our owners to talk with and our new 2013 lineup will be on display for club members to see firsthand.

“We have a number of new activities and events this year – like a real treasure hunt, pirate pie eating contest and dunk tank,” said Formanek. “Plus, we have youth events including Eurobungy jumper and boot camp challenge, bowling and rides. Members won’t want to miss this event!”

Although the rally officially doesn’t begin until July 15, many WIT members start arriving as early as two to three weeks early for pre-rally events and to participate in Forest City’s Puckerbrush Days activities.
“It’s not too late to register,” Formanek added. “WIT members that are interested can call 1-800-643-4892, ext. 1, or visit www.witclub.com and click on the ‘Special GNR Edition’ tab for details about the event and registration information.”

WIT, which has a membership of over 12,000 members, is open to anyone who owns a Winnebago Industries motor home or towable. WIT members are eligible for special member benefits and can also participate in local, state, regional and special interest clubs, and travel on a variety of WIT Club managed special events called caravans and rallies.

Another booze soaked event but for some reason the Forest City police always look the other way and nobody gets busted for public intoxication. The double standard enjoyed by those that have some financial influence is on full display here…
