DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the following 23 bills into law on Wednesday:
Senate File 2098: an Act relating to probate, by amending the probate powers of the clerk and conforming the probate procedures to electronic data management systems standards. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 19, 49-0 and the Iowa House on March 6, 95-0.
Senate File 2117: an Act relating to public funding and regulatory matters and making, reducing, transferring, and supplementing appropriations for expenditures in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, and including effective date provisions. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 20, 59-41 and the Iowa Senate on March 21, 28-21.
Senate File 2131: an Act expanding the Iowa learning online initiative to include students receiving independent private instruction, competent private instruction, or private instruction and providing for related fees, directing the area education agencies to convene an online learning working group, and including effective date provisions. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 27, 60-39 and the Iowa Senate on March 5, 50-0.
Senate File 2139: an Act relating to the powers of an agent under a power of attorney with respect to real property and including effective date provisions. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 19, 49-0 and the Iowa House on March 7, 97-0.
Senate File 2201: an Act relating to the National Guard, by authorizing a morale, welfare, and recreation activity and establishing procedures concerning notification of civilian authorities regarding certain criminal offenses committed by members of the National Guard. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 19, 49-0 and the Iowa House on March 7, 97-0.

Question ? House file 2354 – does this protect(hide) a students criminal record such as what happened in Parkland Fl. 19 criminal reports to police and he still had no police record – that did not come out to swell. Just asking.
Sounds like the old supervisor in worth county that tried to steal a farm at a tax sale would have owned it because of the time limit now shorted to appeal this type of sale – well he used to be a state politician so I guess he helped write this shortened version of theft. That’s house file 2318 by the way.
