Martha J. Butterfield, 92, of Mason City, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Mercy One, Mason City.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd ST SE, Mason City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Officiating will be the Rev. James Bringman of First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Martha Jean was born on December 31, 1931 in Conrad, Iowa the daughter of Alva and Annola “Dagget” Baker. She graduated high school from New Hampton. Martha and William Roland “Bill” Butterfield were married on December 1, 1950 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They moved to New London for a period of time and Martha was employed as an Investigator at the Army Ammunition plant there. Later Bill and Martha moved to Silvis, Illinois where she worked in a paper factory until moving back to Mason City. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens.
Surviving her are her husband of 73 years William, three children Bonnie K Story of Burlington, Kim C. and her husband Michael Pepping, Silvis, Ill, and Monte Butterfield of Mason City, along with five grandchildren, Ann, Kyle, Joel, Katie, and Charlie and 7 great grandchildren Rowan, Sutton, Daisy, Alice, AJ, Cora and Layney. She also has three living siblings Nancy Speck, Judy Rock, and Kathy Goss.
Preceding her in death was her parents, Son William R. Butterfield Jr., two Daughters Tammy Eagen, and Brenda Butterfield along with two grandsons John, and Jacob.
