Mason City man awaits court dates in drunk driving cases

GARNER – A Mason City man who was caught twice for drunk driving in two North Iowa counties is now awaiting trial dates.

Lee Jay Cobb, age 46, was stopped by Emmetsburg police on August 28, 2014 and charged with second offense operating while intoxicated. He pleaded not guilty and now awaits a February 10 jury trial in Palo Alto county.

In a separate incident, early on the morning of October 8, a Britt police officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Cobb. However, Cobb refused to stop as he raced eastward on Highway 18. He was soon caught and charged with felony eluding, second offense operating while intoxicated and driving while barred. Cobb posted bond and was released from jail two days later.
