CHARLES CITY – It took two accidents one day last week for a Charles City woman to wreck her SUV.
Charles City police reported that on July 22 at about 12:03 PM, officers responded to an accident at the 900 block of Ellis Drive. Trisha Hemesath was driving a 2005 Chevy Suburban when she swerved and struck a parked trailer. About $3,000 in damage was estimated and the trailer, which belongs to Luke Bonnstetter was totaled. Hemsath was cited for failure to maintain.
Later that same day, at about 5:40 PM, police responded to a two vehicle accident at the 500 block of Allison Street. A 1995 Chevy Lumina driven by 15-year-old Malik Knighten was struck by Hemesath and her 2005 Chevy Suburban. The accident caused another $3,000 in damage and both vehicles were towed from the scene. Knighten was cited by police for failure to yield and violating terms of his school license.
