OBIT: Keith Charles Hanson

Keith Charles Hanson, 61, formerly of Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.

Keith Charles Hanson, 61, formerly of Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 First Ave. North, Clear Lake, Iowa, with Al Berge officiating. Inurnment will take place at Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the Clear Lake Public Library in Keith’s memory.

Keith was born April 30, 1964, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of David and Cheryl (Willadsen) Hanson. He grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School with the Class of 1982. He continued his education at Iowa State University in Ames, majoring in tele-communicative arts.

Keith was a radio DJ, worked in master control at KIMT-TV, and worked for Verizon Wireless before his health declined. He enjoyed connecting with family and friends on social media. He had a great appreciation for music and especially enjoyed the band Chicago.

Keith is survived by his sister, Julie Hanson of Ames; his aunts, Joyce (Richard) Stille of Swaledale, and Lou Willadsen of Jacksonville, Florida; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Cheryl Hanson; his brother, Mark Hanson, in 2022; along with numerous aunts and uncles.
