Margaret “Annie” Infante was born June 22, 1936, on a farm near Bricelyn, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Trina (Ochoa) Aguilera. When her family later moved to Manly, Margaret attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, where she graduated. On January 12, 1957, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Valentine “Val” Infante, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion, and were blessed with three children: Anthony, Valerie, and Anna.
Margaret and Val made their home in Mason City, where Margaret dedicated many years as a bookkeeper, working for Damon’s, the Cerro Gordo County Clerk of Court, Morrell’s Jewelry, and IMI Cornelius before her retirement in 1996. She also gave generously of her time, volunteering for over 20 years at Mercy Hospital.
Margaret found joy in the simple things. She loved to cook and was happiest when sharing meals with family and friends. She enjoyed word searches, dabbled in painting, and never passed up a good shopping trip. She treasured long phone conversations and Saturday morning coffee with friends. She loved playing family games and was known for her warm smile, kind heart, and her gift of making everyone feel welcome. She had a special place in her heart for children and was always ready with time, attention, and love.
Faith was an important part of Margaret’s life. She and Val were longtime members of Epiphany Parish – Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was active in Circle and a dedicated member of the Catholic Daughters for many years.
Margaret never said goodbye without a hug, a kiss, and an “I love you more”.
