SUMNER, IOWA – A Northern Iowa woman lost control of a Honda she was operating and after it crashed and rolled, both her and a child inside were taken to a hospital.

On March 10, 2026, at approximately 6:25 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received report of a single vehicle rollover accident in the 10500 block of Y Avenue near Sumner, Iowa, with possible injuries.

When deputies arrived, it was determined that Kimberly Corliss of Sumner, Iowa, was driving her black 2011 Honda CR-V northbound on Y Ave when she lost control of her vehicle entered the southbound lane, over corrected, lost control, and crashed in the ditch causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. Kimberly and a juvenile occupant were transported to a local hospital for evaluation by private vehicle.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Westgate Fire Department, Westgate EMS, and Tieskoetter Collision in this incident. The accident remains under investigation, authorities say.
