OBIT: Mona Weipert

Ramona Lynne “Mona” Weipert, 66, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center. Family will be having a graveside service at Osage Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be from 4 PM to 7PM on Friday March 13, 2026 at the home of her sister, Brenda, 1815 Highway 9, Osage.

November 15, 1959 – March 5, 2026

Ramona Lynne “Mona” Weipert, 66, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center.

Family will be having a graveside service at Osage Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be from 4 PM to 7PM on Friday March 13, 2026 at the home of her sister, Brenda, 1815 Highway 9, Osage.

Mona was born on November 15, 1959, in Osage, Iowa, the sixth child of Arthur and Betty (Campbell) Weipert. She grew up in Osage alongside her nine siblings, surrounded by a large and lively family. As a young adult, Mona moved to Washington state, where she became the owner and operator of a restaurant.

Later, Mona returned to Iowa where she worked a variety of jobs. No matter where she worked, her goal was always to help others. Through these roles she met many people and formed meaningful connections, as her strong sense of empathy and compassion naturally drew others to her.

In her free time, Mona enjoyed cooking and baking for those around her. She was also very crafty and spent time sewing and painting all kinds of projects. Mona rarely stayed still for long and was always on the move. She had a deep love for animals and cared for them whenever she could. Despite facing many health challenges throughout her life, Mona maintained a positive attitude and continued to find joy in the things she loved.

Those left to cherish memories of Mona are her children, Stephanie and Nathan; grandchildren, Josh, Antonio, Justice and Isiah “Bubba”; siblings, Robert, Donna (Don) Granhan, Steve (Kathy) Weipert, Becky (Steve) Graves, Keith (Renae) Weipert, Michael Weipert, Brenda (John) Cramer, and Brian (Kimberly Weipert; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Mona is preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Darrell; and her special friend, Dennis Fischer.
