Linda Jo Gorkowski, 71, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Westview Care Center in Britt, Iowa.
Graveside service will be held 10:30 AM, Friday, March 13, 2026 at Rock Falls Cemetery, with Deacon Jim Wolf officiating.
Linda was born on September 1, 1954, to Roland F. and Joan B (Arganbright) Gorkowski at Park Hospital in Mason City, Iowa. Cerebral Palsy and profound mental difficulties eventually led to institutionalized care at age six in various Iowa cities. She eventually resided at Krysilis, Forest City where staff lovingly cared for her in a home for adults with limitations for 33 years, before moving to Britt West View Care Center.
Linda is survived by her sisters, Rhonda (Tom) True of Mason City, IA, Sheila Portz of Springfield, OH, and Sonya (Jeff) Smith, Bonaparte, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as extended family members and friends.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Linda’s caregivers over the years for their exceptional care.
