Women’s College Basketball: Iowa State Cyclones defeat Kansas State, 93-79

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Iowa State (22-8, 10-8 Big 12) took down Kansas State (15-16, 8-10 Big 12) in Bramlage Coliseum on Sunday afternoon, 93-79. The win secures the first-round bye in the 2026 Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament as ISU will be the No. 7 seed in Kansas City.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Iowa State (22-8, 10-8 Big 12) took down Kansas State (15-16, 8-10 Big 12) in Bramlage Coliseum on Sunday afternoon, 93-79. The win secures the first-round bye in the 2026 Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament as ISU will be the No. 7 seed in Kansas City.

Audi Crooks delivered 41 points and 13 rebounds on 16-of-19 shooting from the floor while Jada Williams added 23 points, five rebounds and nine assists. Addy Brown contributed seven points, a game-high 14 rebounds and a career-high tying three blocks. Iowa State outrebounded the Wildcats, 48-24 and finished 23-of-24 at the free throw line.

Audi Crooks scored the game’s first points on an assist from Jada Williams. K-State answered with a 3-pointer. Crooks got her second basket of the day on a pick-and-roll action with Addy Brown. After a defensive stop, Jada Williams drew contact at the hoop and made two free throws. A Crooks offensive board and putback extended ISU’s lead, 8-5. Williams hit the first 3-pointer of the day to push the lead to six. She followed up with midrange jumpers on back-to-back ISU possessions. The Cyclones extended their lead to 21-13 on a jumper from Sydney Harris and two free throws from Alisa Williams, but K-State used a 9-3 run with three triples to get back within two. With ISU in the bonus, Reese Beaty drew contact breaking the press and made two free throws to hold the 26-22 lead heading into the second quarter.

After a Jada Williams jumper, K-State used a 10-0 run, adding a full court press that forced three Cyclone turnovers, to take their first lead since 3-2. The Wildcats grew their lead to 34-28 before a Kenzie Hare triple broke up the run. The Cyclones scrapped back within one with a 6-0 run that included points from Jada, Crooks and Beaty to force a Kansas State timeout with 2:09 left in the half. But the Wildcats hit another 3-pointer and made two free throws to take a 43-37 at the halftime break.

Iowa State scored on its first possession out of the half after Brown pulled down an offensive rebound and lobbed to Crooks for an easy two. Hare drew an offensive foul, and Williams found Brown under the basket to cut the two. Back-to-back baskets from Hare and Crooks gave Iowa State the lead back at 46-45 with 8:12 to play in the third quarter. The two teams traded blows back and forth with ISU taking a 55-54 lead following an Alisa Williams layup. The Cyclones held a 60-58 lead after a Crooks and-1, but K-State tied again with two free throws. The Wildcats took the lead on a fastbreak layup but a free throw and putback from Crooks gave ISU the 63-62 lead. A lob from Beaty to Crooks in the last 30 seconds of the frame gave ISU the 65-62 lead with 10 minutes to play.

Arianna Jackson connected on her first 3-pointer to answer a triple from the Wildcats. Crooks’ and-1 put the Cyclones up by four. KSU hit another 3-pointer, but Jada Williams answered with and-1 of her own to hold the four-point lead. With two more baskets from Crooks, ISU doubled its lead with 5:34 to play and forced a K-State time out. A driving layup and a 3-pointer from Williams on consecutive trips down the floor gave ISU the 85-74 lead with 3:39 to play. Crooks, Brown and Williams made free throws down the stretch to comfortably extend the lead to 12.

Top Performer
Audi Crooks led the way for ISU with 41 points and 11 rebounds. It marked her 96th consecutive career game with double-figure scoring, her 12th double-double of the season and fourth 40-point game this season.

With 41 points today, Audi Crooks extended her double-figure scoring streak to 96 games, the longest active streak in NCAA women’s basketball. It is the longest streak among Big 12 players since Brittney Griner’s 116-game streak.
She finished with her 62nd 20-point scoring effort of her career and 12th double-double of the season.
With her first board of the night, Jada Williams pulled down her 100th rebound of the season.
